What’s your favorite thing about working in marketing?
My favorite thing about working in marketing is brainstorming and innovation. I love diving into different industries, learning what works, what doesn’t, and why. I’m also a fan of the psychology behind it all – understanding what makes customers tick and why they are drawn to a product or service. It’s all about connecting the dots between what a client offers and why it resonates with people. Each campaign is an opportunity to explore that connection.
If you could work with any brand in the world, what would it be and why?
Cécred… I mean it’s Beyonce’s brand. I don’t think there is much else to say there.
What’s your go-to productivity hack when you’re facing a deadline?
Hands down, setting a timer or blocking my calendar is key. It helps me stay focused and accountable, without getting too caught up in one task. I can easily spend too much time on something, so this keeps me on track and progressing. It’s how I turn my to-do list into a done list!
What’s the most rewarding part of collaborating with clients?
The most rewarding part of collaborating with clients is understanding their industry and using that knowledge to drive real growth. I enjoy the challenge of grasping new concepts and combining that with my marketing knowledge to make progress. When the strategies we develop start making a positive impact, and we can see the results, that’s when I know the effort has truly paid off. Building a strong, informed partnership with the client makes all the time and energy worthwhile.
What’s one thing you wish more people knew about the marketing industry?
One thing I wish more people knew about the marketing industry is how beneficial targeted advertising can be. While privacy concerns about cookies are understandable, the reality is that this technology helps streamline our shopping experience. It means that instead of wasting time searching for items or services, I see exactly what I’m interested in right when I need it. Plus, it introduces me to smaller brands I want to support, rather than just the big box stores. It’s all about making my life easier and connecting me with businesses I genuinely care about.
What’s something outside of work that brings you joy?
Plants! I love houseplants and have way too many to even count. It’s so satisfying when they’re thriving and sprouting new leaves— it’s like a reward!
